Music Lessons from a Perth Piano Teacher as Therapy for Behavioural/Learning Disorders

Behaviour disorders such as ADHD are under the spotlight at the moment. Using drugs to control ADHD is fraught with real danger for the child. The IBA can provide a therapy for ADHD and many other behavioural disorders, which are having wonderful results.

We have schools at Balwyn, Dandenong, Glen Waverly, Chatswood, Castle Hill, and Hurstville. Our head office is at Kingsford, with schools opening soon in Brisbane and Perth.

A Skilled Piano Teacher Can Improve Such Conditions

Usually diagnosed as a problem of brain function, disabilities can be improved by using Professor Wei’s teaching techniques for music lessons, since its purpose is to create and establish more networks amongst the neurons within different parts of the brain.

Although this method will help children with disabilities by establishing and creating more networks within the brain, it cannot cure any disabilities.

Click here for more information about how music lessons can assist brain development in students of all ages and skill levels.

A Perth Piano Teacher for Children With ADHD

Our piano teachers are only trained to teach children with mild ADHD. We would be happy to interview you and your child to test their suitability for the IBA program.

Please contact your nearest academy for more information.  For those with severe cases, consultation with Prof. Wei prior to enrolment is required.

A Glimpse Into our Students’ Lives and Music Lessons

"Adis" is diagnosed with severe Autism and Hyperactive disorder. At 12 years of age he is not able to attend a normal school due to his disabilities.  Under treatment at the Autistic Clinic in Philadelphia, his finger movement were critically restricted. After being given some finger exercises by Professor Wei, Adis is now able to play simple tunes on the piano.

Joshua Murray has Asperger Syndrome, and was not doing well in school academically and socially. He joined IBA in January, 2005 when his piano teacher was preparing him for the AMEB level 3 exam. By May 2005 with the help of our “Snowman's Dream”™ teaching method he passed level 5 and he is now preparing for his grade 8 AMEB exam.

Iris and Rebecca Fan are twins who suffer CMV Disease which is an intellectual disabled that has held back both their mental and physical development. They currently attend the special unit at Kingswood High School. Before they joined IBA their fingers were so stiff and immobile that they could not bend them. They started taking lesson in August 2006 and now will perform “Fur Elise” at the April 2007 Concert. More about Iris and Rebecca .
