WHAT IS IBA?IBA stands for International Brain Academy – Networked Thinking in Mathematics, Arts, Languages and Music. IBA is based on ANTIM (Academy of Networked Thinking in Music), a brain school founded in Germany in 1989. WHAT IS “SNOWMAN’S DREAM”? “Snowman's Dream” is Professor Wei Tsin Fu’s new pedagogic approach to teaching piano. This method incorporates the knowledge of the human brain functions in piano lessons. Thus besides teaching music, each lesson also aims to develop the functions of the left and right brains, the cerebellum and the nervous system. MORE THAN MUSIC LESSONS IBA considers itself a school for developing brain function, not just music ability. We use the process of learning music to help students discover their intelligence, in all fields – music, logic, co-ordination and emotional intelligence. IBA approaches the lessons in a relaxed and friendly manner, which then helps the students to achieve high levels of performance in a most enjoyable way. As the students become more interested, motivation and enthusiasm are evident, and as a result, this helps them achieve high level performance in an enjoyable manner. BEHAVIORAL AND INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN ANTIM’s “Networked Thinking” courses are designed to help the development of children with disorders, thus helping them achieve goals of an average, smart or even prodigy children. CAN GENIUS BE LEARNT? Yes. By training the brain to think in the fastest and logical way, one can increase the IQ and EQ. This creates good thinking habits and as an example, all of Prof. Wei’s students that graduated from college or university in 2001 were awarded high honors for a GPA of 4.0 & an average grade of A+. IS PROGRESS WITHIN THE COURSE EASY? Students make progress practicing 20 to 60 minutes a day. Our techniques use the knowledge of brain function to allow progress within the course quickly and easily. With ANTIM’s method, even 5 year olds can read all the notes and play “For Elise”; Bach’s “Prelude C-Major” or simple Jazz Songs after 4 months. Some older beginners reach this level after 1 hour of tuition! THE ROAD TO BEING A GREAT PIANIST Some of Prof. Wei’s students play piano concertos by Beethoven, Grieg, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Rachmaninoff by memory after 3 weeks of learning them; “Porgy & Bess” after 1 week; and the “Rhapsody in Blue” after 2 days. WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT Since 2002, 15 IBA academies have been established in 4 continents. Read more: How to make children smarter Our locations |
